Inspired to Action

On December 15 Mrs. Patricia Paul of Chicopee, State President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, presented a check for $2250 to Dr. Michael Blute, Director of the Cancer Center of Excellence of UMass Memorial Medical Center.  The funds were raised through sale of a lapel pin designed by Mrs. Paul and sold during the year of her presidency by the members of the Auxiliary. It will be used for patient care in the Cancer Center.  Mrs. Paul was inspired to choose UMass Memorial because one of her close friends is receiving treatment here.  The Cancer Center is grateful to Mrs. Paul and the many other volunteers who work tirelessly to help provide the best possible care for cancer patients.
